Yes. If you have a Zero Jewel, you can easily make 3 million yen off of roulette in a single try.
Empty your inventory except for the Zero Jewel. Save. Go to Ryugujo, that casino in Kamurocho or wherever there's roulette. Buy 1,000 chips. Play roulette. Use the jewel. Bet the max (1,000) chips on 0 or 00. If you don't get the payout, reload and try again. You get 36,000 chips, which is good enough for 26 platinum plates. This is good for 3+ million yen. You could split your bet between 0 and 00 if you don't want to reload, but you'd only get half of the payout.

shit is OP as fuck because it's unblockable and floors the enemy. if you time it right you can do Square Triangle Circle which floors the enemy with a grab and does pretty decent damage, and while they're getting up, time it so the grab lands right as they're vulnerable (whiff the square and triangle moves while they're standing) and basically stunlock dudes forever.
the throw also knocks down nearby enemies and bosses can't do their bullshit counters to it

basically to break up Haruka's sections with some fighting, they stuck Akiyama in there (he would've been in the game regardless, this is just how they've decided to use him in 5)
Story-wise they're in an even bigger quandary with Akiyama than they are with Kiryu, all they can really do with him at this point is connect him to the story via "a client he knew" or "a hobo he knew" and both of those look like hamfisted/forced ways to insert Akiyama into the story on the surface.
At the end of 4 it was Saejima with the big huge story setup for what he could do next, and incidentally they completely squandered that by sending the guy back to prison instead of having him do yakuza shit with his family or whatever

I have a couple noob questions because I've never played yakuza but am interested in giving it a shot.
First, can I skip any games or do I absolutely have to go though them in order?
Second, Yakuza 5 was only released digitally right? I like collecting physical copies but couldn't find them anywhere.

It's highly recommended to play through them all. Your attachment to the characters will help your enjoyment along a lot, and seeing the series grow from ps2 to ps4 is quite a sight.
The first game is kind of rough, but it's not that long and still pretty damn fun. On top of that, it emulates well. Definitely play them all for optimal enjoyment.

3 and 4 have an option to catch up on the plot from 1 and 2. It's heavily recommended you play at the start. 1 is dated in it's controls but still fun while 2 fixes everything and is near perfect. 3 and 4 take a bit to get going especially 3 but if you spend the time and get into it you can enjoy them. 5 doesn't have the reminiscence option sadly

In Mahjong I read the basic rules but I still didn't manage to make a complete set. It always ends in me waiting for a piece that never comes and I end up in a draw or in an early lose.
