Every single year without fail. Most years I beat it, as well. I think Ive beaten this game like 11 times or something like that.
Also, MGS 3 and OoT/ MM are at least every other year, if not every year too.

Bufu for extra turn, buff Chie and MC with Yosuke's agility boost. Decrease Yukiko's defence with Izanagi. And hope for the best. Use that physical special skill with Kiraiya since it has a chance to knock back the boss with a critical over neutral elemental attacks

Every year around this time I run through FFIV, I recently picked up the complete collection so I plan on giving its sequels a try.

What? Just fucking grind a bit, if you're really suffering this badly. While you're grinding, collect better persona-mon that will help you during the battle.

Fused my main persona to get a valkyrie and I don't think I have enough healing items. This is the first persona game I've ever played. Should I be using multiple saves? My last save was during the reasoning period so I didn't want to delay saving her.

Valkyrie should be more than enough since it has innate bufu skills skills and learns media as well.

You should be using multiple save files on all rppgs that allow it.
Also, you should just focus on getting an array of Persona that will allow you to do everything you need.
Even that early in the game, I think you can get a pixie and use that to heal, helping you out with not having to waste so much money on healing items.
Also, since it's your first SMT game, learn the weaknesses of your enemies and punish them as soon, and as often, as you can. But, also be vary of what moves and elements the enemy is using, or able to use. The enemies can also cheese you with attacking your weaknesses.

You should use up all the saves you can. No reason to just overwrite the same save slot when you got dozens more to use and fall back on if you shit the bed.
Also do what >>320445510 said. Shadow Yukiko also has some pretty obvious tells when she does her attacks so you should guard with Chie when it says, "Shadow Yukiko has a passionate stare" or stuff to that effect.
I feel like I re-100% Ape Escape 1 basically once a year.

I agree, I never felt like I had to be that prepared when playing but I'm just giving anon suggestion since he's having trouble at the first actual boss fight.
I play through the entire series at least once a yearThat entire playtime has been essentially TRIPLED thanks to The Phantom Content :(
For some reason it just kind of became a tradition for me to be playing this as the clock ticked over from one year to the next on New Year's Eve/Day.
I hope to do it again this year, but I haven't got anything to play it on and It Just Doesn't Feel Right™ emulated.

It's not even that well designed, yet I've probably replayed it 4 times. The whole thing with the levels changing depending on the time period probably helps, along with the gameplay completely changing when going for the good futures

Symphonia, it's so nostalgic. the music is just great, floods back memories.

First time I played P4 I was able to beat Yukiko on the very first day possible by using items. So just make sure you're well stocked, the game becomes easier when you get Yukiko on account of her being an amazing team member gameplay-wise.

You mean fighting the demon army or the final boss fight?
The demon army might be a pain in the ass if it's your first run, but the game offers you tons of help if you manage to survive, for example, after some time it will do a fast forward in time and it leads right into the final battle.
