Because /v/ has no concept of nuance and is instantly triggered by anything that reminds them of let's plays.
Commentary can be bad - if they're trying to force unfunny attempts at comedy, if their voice/mic is terrible, or if they're one of those insufferable people who feel the need to keep talking constantly over the gameplay whether or not they actually have anything worthwhile to say - but it's not inherently bad. For example it can be useful to help explain things if necessary.
