I'm pretty sure X is smaller than JC3 or JC2 (and I'm almost sure JC3 is smaller than JC2) but if we consider even the WiiU limitations, and how each place even in the same zone looks different and original instead of green hills and some copy pasted village with the same dictator statues everywhere, I would say X looks more impressive.

The main grieff with the game is that after you capttured every base there is literally nothing you can do. With Just Cause 2 there was 5-10x more base... altought the Copy-Pasta method was more used in there... and it was more boring to attack a base.
In the end, I'm just waiting to an "Always 5 Star Wanted" mod, because it feels good taking down a whole army till you die

JC2 I put 300 hours into it. It's still a beautiful game by today's standards and even if there isn't the physics destruction 3 has it's still very satisfying to blow things up and steal helicopters mid air and fly them off to crash into a missile silo etc
The game looks pretty and all but I liked JC2's landscape and biome variety. There was desert, forest, countryside, jungle, snowy mountains; JC3 is all mediterranean island from one end to the other, kinda boring

What irks me about the newer fallout games (3 and upwards) is that you can walk in any direction for 3 minutes and discover 15 new locations and secrets.

I mean, I would expect that in a Bethesda game a much larger number of buildings are accessible, many more NPCs are named and have unique dialogue and quests, and so on.
Anybody can make a large map, but filling it with meaningful content is a lot harder.
Why do so many people care about big open worlds? What's in those worlds that are so big? Grass and trees?
It's so much better to have a compact game world that doesn't waste space. If you're gonna do an open world game, anything bigger than San Andreas is a waste.
