As an FE fan I kind of agree the series is over-repped at this point.
Marth/Ike/Roy/Robin is fine and is probably the best representation of FE since it represents games from every console the series has been on (Marth on NES/SNES/DS. Ike on GC/Wii, Roy on GBA, Robin on 3DS).

Ice Climbers and Wolf still have a chance in the next game, the only real tragedy is Snake. Ivysaur and Squirtle had unique movesets so it's sad to see them go but at the end of the day there are enough pokemon fighters, generation 1 pokemon especially, and I'd say that most would rather see the development time be put into creating other fighters.

In several: I only missed them because Brawl actually had modes. This one has good characters with unique fighting styles but no modes to use them in besides versus mode in 50 different variants.
