I still don't get why this movie bombed so hard. It was really good. And I'm saying this as someone who had only played ff7 when I watched it and wasn't even aware different final fantasies took place in completely different settings and shit. I've watched it at least 3 times and I've enjoyed it every time.

It failed because it was a very average movie and the whole basically sold on the pitch of "look at the graphics!" It's not a bad movie, but it was bland and didn't do well critically which would have scared off people that weren't only watching because of the brand name.
