Yes. I really do miss Jack because he was a lawyer, and he was terrible at his job. Video games are legally protected by the first amendment in the US, so Jack was pretty much harmless. In addition to this, he and his ilk were all old hyper fundie Christian types that young gamers hated. He had almost zero support from the actual gaming community.
The modern SJW crowd is not attacking legality, but they go straight for the developers themselves and convince them that people will not buy their games if they don't change things. Many "gamers" support them or at least throw some token support their way. This has been highly effective, which is why they show no signs of stopping any time soon.

Still though stores don't allow minors to buy M rated games if they are under 17. Unfortunately though that store policy is easy to get around since kids let their parents buy the M rated game for them.

Jack wanted government regulation of video games, basically turning any M rated game into the equivalent of pornography that had to be kept behind the counter, with real prison sentences to anyone who sold to minors. This would have killed M rated game sales and would have led to nothing but T rated games even now. You know how M rated games are a bitch to get released in Australia?
