Well, this thread seems to be going nowhere, fast.
In the meanwhile, pretty hyped for Deathwing and Battlefleet Gothic. Cautiously hyped for DoW3.
I don't foresee it happening, but I wish DoW3 would be more like DoW1 than 2. However, considering Relic will probably reuse the DoW2/CoH engine, I don't see traditional RTS format returning. I'll play it either way, but they damn well better put in more factions. It was criminal what they took out in DoW2.

The developers have said a million effing times that they don't want to start with 1000+ vs 1000+ battles right off the bat and then have the community moan about it for years screaming FIXITFIXITFIXIT. Right now during the alpha they want to get the core mechanics down and start with smaller battles on smaller battlefields, gradually upping the size of both over the alpha and beta in hopes of reaching that starry eyed destination upon release.
For the millionth times alphas and betas are not representative of the final product, they are a game state where the developers are going to intensive updating and testing trying find the boundaries, and break both the game's programming and boundaries. I swear some people can't read. And with all the pre-release access stuff you understanding of the line between alpha/beta content and a finished product blurs evermore everyday.

I'm more concerned about how they will add vehicles in increment to the size of the map than the open world shit.
When the map gets bigger it'll give reason to have siege tanks, artillery, skimmers and aircraft. Skimmers are pretty important considering how much Eldar vehicles can hover.
