About to install Windows to a ext HDD for the vidya. I'd prefer to have XP, but are there are any significant games/emulators that XP can't runor can't run as wellthat W7 can?

If you're using XP don't use 64 bit. XP64 was never officially supported and some games don't work on it. I know for a fact that Bad Company 2 doesn't run on XP64 from the brief time I used it and I've heard plenty of people having problems with other games on XP64.

I think the only issues you'll face by being on XP is anything that needs DirectX 10 or later. Most games are backward compatible with 9.0c though, because developers like to keep fucking everything backward compatible to toasters, so I can't imagine it would affect too much.
