It should be a tag because if someone wants to look for a game featuring female character lead they can use it.
What's bullshit is steam doesn't allow a lot of other equally/more valid tags. For example the "loli" tag isn't allowed even though it's useful for finding certain kinds of games. They also remove harmless joke tags that don't affect anything like how Dragon Age used to be tagged with "quads."
It's already over, they're distracted with the US election, BLM and muslim immigration that they don't need to nitpick video games to feel like a real activist.
