I have a PS4. It's OK. It's not a great piece of hardware, but that's mostly because there's really nothing you can play on it that you can't play better on the PC.
It has literally one game, Bloodborne. Bloodborne! I liked Bloodborne, but the idea that it somehow beats out a billion PC exclusive games (or even just the Paradox catalog) in terms of how much of my interest it can hold is just laughable.
So even though I own a PS4 and a Vita (yup), I will continue making fun of Sonyggers, because in their hearts, they know I'm right.

Console exclusives exist because of console wars. Do you think Sony gives a shit about excluding PC gamers from Bloodborne? Bloodborne is an exclusive to incentivize someone to buy a PS4 instead of an XBONE. PC isn't even part of the picture.
In fact, someone like me, who would buy a PS4 just to play the couple worthwhile exclusives it has, actually costs Sony money, as I'm just as likely to buy the games used and the hardware itself is sold at a loss. Sony only makes money by selling a PS4 to someone who will go on to buy ALL of their games on it and make it their primary if not only platform.

There are so many things that would have happened in an alternate reality with no console exclusives that it's not really an argument. You think they'd simply cease to exist, I think all that content would have still been made, simply in the form of another game. Bloodborne would have been another Dark Souls. I'm really not familiar enough with Sony software to say anything about it, but I know Nintendo wouldn't simply stop making games if their hardware sector became unprofitable, a very realistic possibility.
