Tell me /v/ does anyone here remember the Xbox smell? The smell in the original Xbox's memory card slots on the controller. Or anyone have other weird associations with consoles? Smell's, Tastes, etc.

The plastic smell of opening a Wii reminds me of playing Twilight Princess and vice versa. Love that kind of nostalgia.
Have a similar connexion for thick plasticy books and Rock Raiders because of the manual it came with.
Even GTAIV had a distinctive smell, kinda different from other PS3 cases.
Scent is the most powerful evocator of memory after all.

I actually know what you mean OP, and mine still smells like that. It's very nostalgic, reminds me of JSFR and Halo and stuff.
I remember I would pop open the hatch on my Gamecube and it had a wonderful smell. I wonder what chemical it was that smelled so damn good?

Those two buttons were such a pain to use with certain combinations. I'm glad they went the Dualshock way.
I feel like I'm pretty good at remembering through smell, but I don't think any video game consoles have ever left an impact on me. The warm air coming from the non-slim PS2 comes to mind.
For ex-soviets it was the smell of melting AC adapter of these NES clones.

I have similar with playing Ass Creed Brotherhood (or 2?) when I first watched The Boondocks, so Ezio and the Freemans are forever connected in my mind.

I got it right at the perfect time for me to enjoy all those amazing star wars games which I was hugely into at the time, whereas with my PS2 I didn't have any friends with a console at the time so I ended up with a pretty shitty game library

It was my favorite. In fact, It's my personal favorite console of all time. I played Xbox from the middle of elementary to near the end of junior high when I got a 360. The majority of my friends all had Xbox as well
