As much as I hate to say it, I'm not sure if maximo still has a place in modern gaming. Would they make it into a god of war clone? dark souls clone?
I don't think they'd really keep the arcadey style, unless it was a budget game

I think its core mechanics still would work today, and don't we have a Ratchet and Clank game coming out thats going to sell millions? Its sort of the same formula minus the shooting, and the cartoony graphics would be downright loved. What worries me mostly is how much people would bitch about the princesses being over sexualized, but otherwise I believe it could be successful.

The camera in the game could have been better, for sure. It made some of the do-or-die platforming harder than it needed to be.
Otherwise I thought it was a pretty decent 3D remake of GnG.

I really need to play this again because while looking for the picture on wikipedia to make the thread it said that it was criticised for being too hard. But honestly I don't really remember it being that hard, sure I struggled a bit in the ice level and I think the poison(green?) Level but IMO nothing that a 6 year old me couldn't handle.

I don't think "modern" gamers will care about maximo. If anything, if it comes out in the style of R&C they'll crucify it for being "ratchet and clank with swords" because they don't know any better

All I know about this game was that it got a bunch of really good scores in a GamePro magazine I owned. I think it got a 5.0/5.0 in fun factor

Of course I didn't mention that the only reason that R&C is getting another game is because a movie is coming so keep that in mind.
But I'd like to believe that a modern Maximo could work, but definitely not in the form of a AAA game.
My only hope is they at least make them playable on the PS4 with the new emulator since my PS2 is kill and I skipped the PS3.
