also spam the basic attack combo forever
i once beat the whole story mode only using basic attack moves.
thank god they improved the AI in the third game having it use more special moves

to be honest there wasn't much variation in moves, it seems like 90% of the characters had that energy wave volley, but i remember some fights being hard i guess if you didn't grind to a similar level
