My main problem was the repetition. The dungeon variety was an improvement from 3, but you still just do basically the same thing for the entire game. Go through the dungeon, find the stairs on each floor, when you meet an enemy spam what its weak to. It looks like in 5, they have added a lot of variety to the dungeons, with the set pieces and stuff that they've shown off, which is great.
I also hated the writing (probably because I dislike most anime) and personally thought that the tone was a step down from 3.
How can you hate M&B? Every time I start a new game in that I end up playing for 12 hours a day.

Sure, that's fair. The grinding near the end of the game go RIDICULOUS.
I don't "hate" M&B, I just don't like the combat 'cause my reflexes are shit. Building your own kingdom is fun as fuck, though.

OFF and Radiant Historia, it's a DS game that I emulated on a whim and found just, really engaging. Characters are not that interesting, but art, music, gameplay and plot are really interesting.
The battle with the spider in the last image is one of the most challenging bosses I've ever had the pleasure of beating. I think I shouted out loud when that bastard finally went down.
