They ruined the franchise by turning it into a shitty slow FPS with a focus on "maturity" collecting keys. The designs and art style was also complete shit and the game lacked soul.

It didnt, thats my favorite game of all time. MP2 is also excellent, and mp3 is good too, maybe slightly less so than the other too but still very above average.
bottom line though, metroid prime gave me several of the best gaming related memories I will probably ever have.

This game emulates really well. Just finished the Flaahgra fight and the only problem I've experienced are some sounds breaking in really open areas. Needing to hold R to aim felt really off but I've mostly gotten used to it.
anyone who thinks prime is good is a nostalgia shitter, i played both super metroid and prime as an adult, played sm all the way through and couldn't stand 10 minutes of prime

Boost Guardian on Hard was probably the most intense boss fight i've ever played in a game. I didn't die more than a handful of times but each attempt demanded my complete and absolute attention which only a few bosses have since demanded.
Spider Guardian was just a cunt who I died to repeatedly due to emulating the controller, even worse you had to fucking walk half way across Sanctuary Fortress to get back.
