Alright /v/ I know how much you don't like the way Mario RPGs are going by story but here is the thing. I want to make people happy and when I see NSMB skyrocketing in sales I know many people are being happy playing the game. I want those people to stay happy so I make sure the RPGs cater to them so that they won't be distracted by much. People play Mario games not expecting a complex story, they just want funny cartoon characters saving the Princess and world from the cartoonishly scary Bowser. Happiness is a top priority that can be weighed down when the game pauses to introduce some character that wasn't needed or to stop because the plot demands it. This isn't what people who play Mario games want, they just want fun. After all the game is fine without a huge narrative or a new set of cast members, so do we even need it? Go read a book or watch a movie because a Mario games are not meant for you.

It's about a 3.5/10 for me. It seems like they just added on the Paper Mario aspect to the Mario & Luigi franchise instead of neatly blending the two franchises together. Way too many mini games; chasing characters is NOT fun. Environments aren't great either but I mean overall it's a solid M&L game. I'm still playing it for now.
