I like the genre the way it is.
At most I would take elements from some games and remove some from others, but overall its a really good genre.

I'd like to see a behind-the-back third person fighter. Not like the DBZ/Naruto games, where you keep sending people flying with over-the-top moves, but like a proper fighter with a changed perspective and bigger emphasis on dodging. I guess that describes some boxing games though.

Get rid of health bars. Add damage thresholds for various body parts like wrestling games use instead.
You can still get ko'd but it'd actually make fucking sense.
Also remove all women and cheesy kung fu fake shit.

It's pretty ok.

My ideal game, though would have the insanely large command lists from 3d fighters with the meter and 2d play of traditional fighters. It would focus on proper stance transitioning and meter management and require virtua fighter levels of autism to get good at.

Fix low sweep fuckery
Remove knockdown forever.
Lower the amount of guess game or its importance.
Make execution even easier just avout easy enough to be consistent with a certain amount of training.
Make them playable on pad.
Remove long ass juggles.

How about developers stop casualizing them, and instead add MORE depth and complexity. SFV will be casual trash just like smash 4, I ain't touching that shit.

I want to see more variety in fighters, smash is my favourite fighter that isn't a fighter by autists standards. Rising thunder is interesting but still just a glorified sf clone with simple inputs.


I'd love to see a game that uses the naruto/dbz format but with fleshed out in depth combat. Those games are hella fun but fall flat in long term replayability. Pokken looks interesting but I imagine its not going to be that in depth

Give tutorials on stuff like fundamentals, blockstrings, cross ups, etc.
It would be not only great for beginners but cut down on people saying retarded shit here, though not by much.
