I'm thinking of buying a Sega Saturn. Is it worth it? Are there enough good games to justify it?

Yes, but ask /vr/

Yes. It looks stylish, has great games and is nice as a peace of gaming history.

The only downside is that the best games are also the most expensive, with prices of 200+ for Burning Ranger and Dragonforce for example.

Just buy it, Panzer Dragoon 1+2 are worth the purchase alone.

Should I buy a Japanese one, since most of the games never got released in the west?
>>
>>320001506
Good idea. Most of the Saturn games are arcadey so there isn't much need to know japanese. Also the games are dirt cheap. And the gray Saturn looks gorgeous.
Alternatively you could buy an american Saturn and an Action Replay, so you can play japanese and burned games on it.

Is there any risk to using the replay cartridge? Could it fuck something up?
>>
>>320002127
I don't think so. You can also use it as kind of a memory card, if the internal battery backed storage isn't enough.

Oh and as someone said, head over to /vr/, they can help you far better than /v/.

Is the Japanese Saturn region-locked?
>>
I have had a Japanese one for a pretty long time now, but I still only own Sonic Jam Collection, Nights and Christmas Nights. What other games do you guys recommend for it? Preferably not RPGs since I can't into Japanese. Some platformers maybe?

Hahahahahaha

Yes.

If they're still available, just get a 4-in-1 cart that removes region locking as well as has the 1MB and 4MB expansions built in. Plug it in and never take it out.

There's plenty of games. The issue comes down to whether or not you want a black hole for all your money.

Do you really expect anyone to take a list that has garbage like Double Switch and Croc as a recommendation seriously? The Saturn already has a ton of amazing games so why add unnecessary bloat like that to the list? It just comes off as a desperate attempt to prove it's got games.
