What's a good roguelike rpg? Preferably isometric a-rpg but I'm open to any suggestion.
Pic kind of related.
>roguelike
>arpg
So which one is it?

both
One Way Heroics
it looks kinda strange and it super cheap
but trust me its good and deep

FTL is probably my favorite
Darkest dungeon is neat but still early access.
rouge legacy is probably as honest to the roguelike genre.
Didn't like endless dungeon. not entertaining enough for me.
binding of issac is solid.
i mostly prefer games like desktop dungeon and darkest dungeon where you get to upgrade a town on the side. or vice versa.

ARPGs are real time, roguelikes are not. You can't have both.

I mean roguelike as randomly generated levels.

Rouge's Legacy will work wonders for you then.
Also can apply perma death rules to a game like Dark Souls to get a similar effect, but that isn't really randomized nor very difficult.

Then say you want randomly generated levels. Roguelike is a pretty specific genre.

This BUT get the Plus version. Quite a fun Roguelike. (Not lite)

FTL is tight as hell, and I generally hate space stuff.

yeah I'm looking for permadeath and randomised levels, steam had games like Risk of Rain under the roguelike tag so I assumed it was a general term for that.

Retarded indie developers love to slap roguelike onto everything.

If you are truly committed to the genre try. cataclysm: dark days ahead.

ITs a free ASCII zombie survival. pretty good if you can handle ASCII

Rogue Legacy looks good, but I'm already playing several metroidvanias so I'd like something else.
I don't like Isaac's artstyle but this is about what I'm looking for, maybe less of a shoot em up.

I don't think I can handle ASCII but thanks though.

take a look at dungeon of the endless. It's only rogue-likeish but I greatly enjoy it.

Call them roguelites
Roguelikes are quite literally games like Rogue
>>320000127
To be fair, many of them call it roguelight or roguelikelike or something like that.
But still, it's like saying First Person Shooter about every game that has a first person view - it has just become an overall loose term for some games that share some characteristics.

I've heard good things about Nuclear Throne
Catacomb Kids looks really cool, but it's still early access.
Seconding FTL, BoI and Dungeon of the Endless.
Rogue Legacy got a bit too boring for me.
