When your much touted customization system lacks factory appearance options, you're not exactly doing a great job at it. Go poke around McLaren's website, note how it has a bunch of options that would make sense to include and are entirely missing from the game.
Also why wasn't the manual shifting implemented from the beginning? It just makes no fucking sense whatsoever, it's not like it's hard to implement if you have some semblance of gearbox functionality present already. Unless all the cars run like they're on CVTs, in which case good fucking job I guess

Wheels don't help in any game less realistic than GT or Forza. NFS is arcadey enough that it'd probably be a disadvantage more than anything, and it the physics won't make it feel like driving a car anyway. Just use a gamepad.

I got what i expected.
Could use more cars (we all know what EA did with them), better explanation on what the tuning options actually DOES, manual, less of the car-enthusiast squad calling me all the time, an actual offline option (apparently the option is there but for the life of me i cant find it) and maybe a fast travel system.
Other than that, it looks amazing and is generally fun. What you would expect from an EA reboot. Should have got it on sale, however.

Got on the bone on cyber monday for 20 bucks. It's grindy as fuck, but the open world and rpg elements are really refreshing compared to Horizon 2. Of course Horizon 2 is better in most aspects, but the crew has some really fun open world shit going on. Plus it's MASSIVE. Like it would take 2 hours to drive straight across coast to coast.
I love hanging around Chicago and Florida mostly. It captures the bible belt pretty well too, was comfy as fuck driving through the rural south.
Also, it's amazingly fun to co-op the campaign with friends. Had more fun playing it with friends then Halo. Shilling aside, it surprised me. Check it out, the devs patched the hell out of a rushed Ubisoft game and actually fixed it mostly.

It's meant to be a massive open world MMO racing game. It's pretty arcadey. Drifting is either ridiculously hard or really bad. I can't decide. You have to level up cars and equip new gear, so they mostly suck dick at first and I think this hampers initial drifting.
Raids are fun as fuck tho, like playing tag in a giant open world.

I'm not surprsied. It was on sale and they fixed like... everything. Physics could be a bit better, but it's a major improvement. The monthly events are pretty fun, keeps people coming online for exclusive event skins.
I play it on the bone and like 7,000 people have already competed in the monthly event. It's not dead, just kind of kept secret. Ubisoft rushed it bad. They had to overhaul the graphics and everything with patches. Granted it's not the perfect racing game, but it's a lot of fun and a 6.5/10 at least. Get it cheap and you won't regret it. Just throw it on your wishlist. Yes the expansion pack is worth it, tho the base game gets all the engine improvements for free anyways.
