Basically I got invaded in DeS then I started playing as a hollow the rest of the game. Now in DaS at first I had no idea what humanity was and used it as health. So, I've been playing as hallowed all this time as well.

i'm not sure but even DaS should have an option to only allow regional play so set that and lag should at the very least decrease
Didn't this get ported from GFWL, and if so, is it decent?

Steamworks makes the game unplayable.
At least with GWFL you could connect with friends instantaneously. Steamworks requires you to both have the same download region and host has to be online at least 8-10 minutes before his friend can connect.
