I suspect though that this change is in relatiation to the new refund system. Valve said you can refund games if you buy it and it goes on a big sale the next day, and they'd rather not sit there issuing refunds for hours on ends for people that don't understand how a traditional steam sale works.

Less games and when I tried to check for games I wanted to buy, they all cost more than on Steam.
For example, Satellite Reign on last Steam sale was going for around 16,5 EUR. On GOG it goes for 18 USD.
The only game from my list I found out to cost less was Shadowrun Hongkong (9,99 EUR vs 9,99 USD) but I already got that on Steam before.
Dont get me wrong, I like GOG and buy from here from time to time (rather rarely, since I already own many classics on their original devices) and lately grabbed Star Ruler 2 for 10 USD, but still.
