Let's settle this.
Tank or Mech, which is better?

Tank.

Tank.
Blow up one of the mecha's legs and the thing becomes useless.
Tanks are better.
Mechs are cooler.

Why can't we have both?
Better how? aesthetically speaking or function?
Jokes on you, the answer to both of those is Tank
Anyone got that gundam gif?

Mech. You can have some that can fly, go underwater, and climb difficult terrain. Although this is a pretty bs fight since it depends on what tank or what mech.
Cyborg.
>Not knowing about the rule of cool
Also MWO is on Steam now.

Can the Mech fly?
Tank.
Anykind of tech that is used for mechs can also be used for tanks or aircraft, which are superior in pretty much every way.
Those 3 or 4 ultra specific and mostly impossible settings where mechs have some advantage over tanks are also not an excuse. Why make something shitty just for that, if you can just use combined arms.
At most we will see 6 legged mechs that are ~1m high and will act as mules and come equiped with some fancy recon/communication tech to assist infantry in certain terrains. And they will be weaponless, because small hover drones are better for providing fire support if you really want a small droid.

Imagine if they all fired at the same time.
Imagine how much the production cost was for all of them.

Tank is better in terms of practicality. It's a lot cheaper than a mech, won't break as easily, and isn't as obvious as one either.
Mech is only really useful as a shock unit. What enemy isn't going to be demoralized by a gigantic mech turning the corner? Mechs can also see farther but that isn't really much

Awesomely deafening
