Fallout 4 has blown every expectation I set for the game. The gigantic world; the lifelike NPC's; the never-ending quests that are so diverse; superb and complex gaming mechanics. I don't know why people keep bashing it and saying Fallout 3 is better when it's obviously not. You even get a pet companion like in Fable 3, but its somehow even better than Fable 3!
People hate it because they had to make a choice between Piper and Curie. They can't have both.

The quests are some of the laziest crap ever, they pretty much all involves you going to a dungeon to kill/fetch shit.
Vast majority of dialogue npcs are just set pieces that you only really talk to like once.
The gameplay is dumbed down as hell and poorly balanced. (The gun mods are mostly just glorified smithing upgrades with narrow as hell actual mod differences separated by obvious tiers, the enemies are bullet sponges, and the legendary system is copied poorly from Borderlands)
The writing is godawful and pretty much every location is designed for the sake of convenience with little actual thoughts put into it. Not to mention there is even less roleplay than a lot of JRPGs. With the overwhelming vast majority of the map population being raiders, mutants and monsters with the only interaction of just fucking killing them, in fact pretty all quest requires you to do just that.
Even the more 'indepth' quests could be fucking generated in a spread sheet program. Same with the perks, along with Bethesda being afraid as hell of specialization and consequences.

The game lacks civilization beyond a few farmers.
Why can't we join the raiders?
Why can't there be a small super mutant village that are actually good and want to help others?

Anyone who's slightly interesting only exists in a few settlements like Diamond City or Good Neighbor... the rest are just copy and paste civilians who don't have much to say. Fallout 4 did ruin roleplaying. It is quiet evident by the fact your main male character's name is Nate, a army soldier and your wife's name is Nora, a lawyer. You can't be yourself anymore.
