Got myself out of my NEET hole a few weeks ago now I actually have money to spend. What do I need to upgrade to play modern games?

Is that all I really need? I was rocking AMD before it crapped out and my friend gave me the 740 piece of poo, think I'll stick with Nvidia.
My first ever build completed a few months ago. I have quite a few regrets with part choices but overall i'm happy.

Yeah the rest of that rig looks A-OK, maybe add an SSD but it's not necessary. I got an i5-3690S and a 980, beast af, but I'm going AMD in the future, Intel and Nvidia are being asshats.
GPU is a R9 290X, upgrading to a 4690k next week. How will i do ?

That's very hot for just idling, even running at 144hz mine only reaches 52c.

Mah nigga, I feel the exact same way. Especially when oc'd the performance I still get is ridiculous. Was so happy when I found out I could run TW3 on some pretty high settings.
