CG was an absolute joke of a game. SS is literally just Bamco crying because LL stuck a bland simplistic rhythm game on people's phones and they ate it up like candy.
The profits for these things are insane, and if you have a tie-in, you'll get plenty of whale fans spending thousands over the next year or so.
They only still make these games for Vita because the industry is still in its period of collapse. There are thousands of cheap workers who haven't yet migrated to phone dev work, begging to be a part of garbage like this.

It's actually surprisingly strategic for a mobage. Berserker spamming is only useful until midgame (unless you got Vlad or Heracles, as Kintoki, the best Zerker, is no longer obtainable) at which point you need to start putting together a team that synergizes.
Its biggest problem is the Gacha. Scathach is only available for a week and you have a literal less than 1% chance to roll her. One unfortunate waifufag only got her after spending $7000.

The more characters you have, the less individual writing each one gets, and the more disappointed customers you have. Say a fan is interested in 3 out of 10 characters in a standard iM@S title, they've got a decent fraction of game. If you're only interested in 3 girls out of a million, you're enjoying almost none of the content. And each girl has far less of a focus, look at something like CG, the entire dialogue for any individual character can fit on a fucking postage stamp.
