The new expansion added monster trucks, drag racers, a spec for drifting (seen in webm) and physically based rending (see nice puddles). pretty cheap on random key websites. I'd say it's worth trying

As a rule of thumb never use "public" trainers. Use Cheat-Engine and make your own table. Also CE comes with a slow-motion option for all games (it might or might not work depending on the game).

The story missions are varied - protect a convoy, destroy military base, steal a tank, provide sniper overwatch, win tank battle, etc.
As for "go here, blow up a few oil tankers" - yes that's most of the game, you need to liberate provinces in order to advance story, and you liberate by blowing shit up. But it's still fun, you can do it in multiple ways, ie: recently I liberated military airport with bomber jet, so for the last two days I was having a blast (both figuratively and literally) bombing the shit out of every outpost, village and military base I could find.
The wingsuit is great addition, it pretty much renders parachute gliding obsolete because it's faster, has more maneuverability and is generally more fun just to fly around.

So there's a dedicated defense button. You block all attacks coming in, but regenerate stamina super slowly. If you time it just right with a press, you can parry- which is what the opponent did. He parried and got to retaliate while the player was off-balance. He is getting rekt.

It does a lot of things better. Actually it does pretty much everything better. The voice acting is better, the characters are better (except Tom Sheldon who gets worse every game), the graphics are better (of course), the map has a good feel to it (towns and countryside are in good proportion), combat is better when you get good weapons, etc. Definitely worthy of a new title. It could probably actually win an award for most improved game of a series. The caveat being that it runs like shit at times that seem completely unreproducible.
