It's selling more than Fallout 4, and if I recall correctly, and you can correct me if I'm wrong, top sellers is not the number of units sold, but the amount of money made.
In other words, a port for a two years old game that is the third of it's series (so to speak) is pretty good, if you ask me.
Now if they port XV within the same year as the time they release it elsewhere and have the price be 60 bucks, I think it will sell really well. Certainly well enough to justify the porting development time and costs.
I find it very unlikely they will get rid of the team that works on the porting (I assume it's a different team from the team working on the main games, am I right?)

The point is if this is a good profit for the porting of said game, which is much less costly, especially with the current console infrastructure that has made things way easier than the dark PS3 days (which were a pain in the ass for all involved, including Sony)
Around 2000 copies at launch, best seller of the week, all in the first few days? Probably a pretty successful launch for what was just a port. Now you add in the copies that will keep being sold for the next few weeks, sales, among other things. Square Enix is looking at a pretty penny for what is now that big an effort to port.
Again, I believe the team that ported the games is not the same team developing the games, and considering they're giving Square Enix gains, it only stands to reason that they will hopefully move on to start porting XV for PC and it will come out for PC within a year from release in consoles.

You might like 13-2 then, Serah is a far better protagonist and Lightning barely appears at all. About 1/3 of the story is focused on looking for Lightning, but the rest is about Noel and it's actually really interesting. Caius is also one of the best villains of the entire series. The gameplay is improved as well.
Unfortunately it ends on a sequel hook so you don't get any resolution without playing LR.
Most of these types of pc ports don't sell huge amounts, yet every company is still putting them out on steam. Why do you suppose that is? Because they cost very little to port and it's free money.

The optimization is just awful. You can run it at 4K and you'll get the exact same framerate. It's funny, if you disable the HUD with gedosato the game suddenly bumps up to 60fps constantly for me... so the HUD actually drains a shitton of framerate for no reason.

Hex editing the exe, but you will get much better quality by using SGSSAA instead.
Even downsampling from 8K still leaves a ton of jaggies because LR is very shader-heavy so there's a lot of shader aliasing.
SGSSAA however elminates all aliasing perfectly.
You need Nvidia card and then make a profile like pic related in Nvidia Inspector.
