Pretty much any device has somekind of extra device that lets you do "Powersaves" or some shit. If on PS2 you can just mod it and use the ELF-launcher filebrowser to copy stuff to a usb-stick, on the gamecube you need a usb-memorycard adapter (these are like 10$), on the Wii you can run the homebrew savegame manager to copy stuff to and sd-card etc...
Anyone else used to turn on Melee without a memory card just to unlock characters as fast as possible?

If you have a wii it's really easy to mod in as well. You can look up a guide and have everything running in about an hour.
It only takes a day or two to unlock everything important though. youll be fine.

all character unlocks in melee have 2 methods, the "X vs matches" is always a failsafe in case the player doesn't stumble upon the regular unlock

20XX is a melee mod or GC, you put it on the GC memory card and it runs. It's made for competitive unlocks all the chars and gives you replay functionality.

It's actually 20XXTE, made by Dan Salvato. 20XX is made by Achilles and they share some of the same features. TE works on just memory cards on any gamecube/wii.
