Mario is great against most of the cast, get's shit on by most other high tiers (good against Rosa and Fox) and is pretty easy to play with a "fluid" balanced feel.

If your playing Link only when they throw bombs at you, you can absorb the blast (But if the bomb itself its you you'll take damage) Ness can only absorb attacks that are considered "energy" attacks. Mega Man's Lemons and Fsmash, Samus Charge Shot, Mario's Fireballs, etc.
Typically Links spamming arrows and Gale Boomarangs are overcome with powerrshields and approaches. Since your using Ness you can throw out a PK Fire of your own if a Link is being really spammy once you get close and catch them while they are in ending frames off a arrow shot.
The bat is slow and shouldnt be used unless you get a read. It amplifies damage and knock back so it can make spammers less likely to spam if they get hit by it often but its situational

She doesnt even have to go off stage to pull PK Thunder away, Ness literally cannot recover against her, Lucas too but atleast he has a tether grab to help.
