I don't think the sales figure is as important as the engagement users have with the store, the games and what not. What analytics would be most valuable would be how long are people engaged in specific genres or games, do subscribers care about the additional games they get with their service and how long they stick with it. I think that's a much more useful metric for publishers and developers. Install base can mean only very few games are actually being bought and sold which only helps out half a dozen developers and publishers.

Well I only own a PS4 and Sony consoles in the past but the obsession with sales distracts people from enjoying games to the point where console wars are now a thing ingrained in video game culture. You can't really talk about a game unless it's on a specific favoured platform or it's on multiple platforms.
