Christmas came early for me and I just got 1200 dollars. I already bought a bunch of new PC parts, so I have 600 for one of the newer consoles.
Which one should I buy, /v/?
If you already have a PC there's no reason to own PS4 or Xbox One. Get a Wii U for the handful of exclusives.

Evaluate the PS4, and see what exclusives you like (as of now it's basically just Bloodborne). It basically depends whether you're willing to put up with the gaps in releases, as the third party is no longer a crutch.

Tbh family, I'd say get a 2560x1440 monitor or a 1080p 144hz monitor. The consoles are a literal waste if you already have a capable PC. General rule of thumb is unless you can name 5 exclusives you cannot live without, a console is not worth the investment.
Go on Craigslist or EBay and find a $200 Wii U. 8 out of 10 times, it won't be updated to the latest version. I'm not sure if it's version 5.4 or 5.5, but you'd be able to attach an external HDD and run backups of every single Wii U, Wii, and GameCube game for free. The Wii U also has a perfect N64 emulator which makes this very enticing. After that, buy a bundled PS4 for $300 and sell the games if they're casual trash. Use the rest of your cash for PS4 exclusives.
