Time for threads on /v/ about the best genre of vidyar.
I've not played many strategy games. I've played Rise of Nations, some Total War, and some War/Starcraft awhile back. What are some must play strategy games? I prefer RTS, but turn based is okay too.

Shit, man. Even in AoE2 threads I have no idea what they're talking about. I would play against AI and make huge walls full of Towers, I never actually learned how to play well.

I don't know if it's just the dodgy translation but everyone in this game is an asshole to everyone else. It's probably the only fantasy RTS that accurately depicts elves.

infantry, cavalry, artillery. infantry is tank, cavalry is shock, artillery is aoe. try to balance these parts in every RTS and you are less shit. bolster your economy as fast as you can while producing units, but don't spam weak units until production/population limit. if you do, get rid of them as fast as you can, while building new units. Should be enough for basics, the rest is up to your willpower to learn and gittin gud

Heroes of Annihilated Empires.
Basically Cossacks with RPG elements tacked on.
Total War is so good. Can't wait for Warhammer. I'm not even a huge Warhammer fan but that detailed overworld map is so beautiful.

GOG has it. If you wait for the end of the winter sale it might be on offer again. Steam has it as well but I don't know if that version works properly on newer machines.
