USS Constitution was my favorite, I stumbled on I pretty early and it made me pretty hopeful about the rest of the game. But jesus after that I couldn't find anything worthwhile. I miss when you could talk to everyone in a city and stumble on a shitload of quests and things to do. I've put about 60 hours into the game and I simply can't play anymore as i'm completely bored of it. It's exactly like Skyrim, intriguing at first but the more you play it the more dull and uninteresting you realise it is. The action is decent but the RPG elements are just awful. The games I play the most tend to be online shooters like CS:GO, Killing Floor 2 and Vermintide but that's because I play them with my bros. When I play games on my own I mostly play offline games. Games like Dark Souls, Divinity, Metro 2033 and Valkyria Chronicles are some I've enjoyed the past few years.

I get like towards the end of the game when I'm super overpowered even on Survival without Power Armor.
The beginning is almost always the most fun and intense for me.
After 40 hours I just can't continue. The very few cool locations like the Combat Zone, robot Race track and Quincy are all huge kick in the balls because they're literally just area to clear generic enemies out of. There should have been several quests with Quincy considering how important it was to the Minuteman backstory, and the the traitors are actually there but can't be interacted with.
I had no expectations for this game but I'm still massively disappointed because they effectively just try to dangle a carrot in front of you. That's the experience you get. The quests and writing is trash, the locations are boring, there's only two actual towns, the settlement building is trash and used to try and justify the god awful worldbuilding, the difficulty is either extremely easy or ridiculous bullet sponges, the factions are all handled terribly, the characters are flat, the main story is even worst than 3's, the dialogue is unforgivably bad, the RPG mechanics are completely gone

Have 6 days in game played time and am only just getting to the Molecular Level where you construct the platform. Most of my first 3 days in game time was carving out a niche in Deadman's Alley as a drinking hall/gentleman's club. Went through one or two major redesigns before settling on anchoring most of it over the shelter and non-Apartments side wall. The area above the trash light is an open patio to the third floor with access to the fire escape and rooftop generators. Things recently got serious with the BoS so I've been spending time outfitting my settlers appropriately and developing Red Rocket into a BoS science center for the transporter. The game is a pretty cozy wasteland Sims to me.

It is quite surprising Bethesda managed to make Fallout 4 fun even tho it got stripped of all the rpg elements. I am pretty sure this game would have been a masterpiece if they followed their old route of - no voiced protagonist, tons of dialogues, more choices, a level cap with slow levelling, more side quests, karma system and being able to kill any main NPC, etc. Oh and of course a fucking female Assaultron Companion.

I only built at like 5 settlements so many of them are jokes, why are they even there?Because without them you don't get 100% artillery cover.
I've really just been grinding.
I went minutemen, took out the institute and brotherhood, and now I've just been making the commonwealth a decent place to live. Almost all of my settlements are now at 85% happiness at least, and all have water, food, and defense, as well as a few stores. Need to get around to dumping a ton of caps into a trading settlement with loads of stores to get max happiness.
Other than that just enjoying having max on all damage and crafting perks to see what ridiculous weapon damage and effects I can push out. It's fun have assault rifles with 80 round drum mags that do 89 damage per bullet and clears out the mag in 5-6 seconds. Max bloody mess and commando makes every fight a total meat shower.

I think the best world building the game was from going into random buildings not to clear them but just to read terminals, unfortunately those kinds of buildings seemed to only ever best quest related. So I'd get 70% through the building and hit a magical dead end.

The bad/meh:
>bobbleheads are easy to find
>no need to collect special weapons since legendaries spawn everywhere
>all achevements really fucking easy to complete even on your first play through
>you're able to get all the perks with on character so it almost takes away the need to make a different character and try out a new build
>Story line was complete and utter GARBAGE tells you nothing at all

Its not trash, its better than fallout 3 but not better than fallout nv story wise. Side quests and experiences are much better than anything the story has to offer. Also perhaps setting up the fact the minutemen will become a new version of the NCR? NCWR maybe? I am really interested in lore of the main factions but we get almost none. luckily we still got prewar lore.

While I did enjoy FO4 and thought that a voiced protag added to some moments in the game, the dialogue system really is fucking trash.
It's not trash, but it's an underwhelming sequel. The combat is too shaky, underdeveloped, repetitive, or what have you and the RPG elements are kinda boring. A true 6/10 game.
Stopped playing after exactly 100h because i don't want to burn out before mods come out.

You can become their enemies, just that there's no kill them all event.
Also, you can ignore them for like 90% of the game (never go to concord) but then it locks you out of some their ending but still has you talk to them. The game is crap because you have to choose a side instead of just exploring.
'The plot' doesn't move ever without your involvement even though these groups have more than enough people to perform your task. Why can't you go solo and watch the world burn as all factions fight each other or you intervene of your own accord, killing them all (because your magical super god that can use stim packs) or a group. Why am I forced to RP some asshat who is obsessed over their kid?
It's 210 years later, the most logical conclusion is they are dead because the logs don't show time stamps of when the kid was taken. Even then, if they are alive it goes exactly how the game did, the kid is old and you've got no ties to their whole life.

I've pretty much taken my time and explored the entire North-East down to Diamond City and been working on Settlements.

I have been pretty disappointed honestly
I like fallout a lot
I liked fallout 1, I'm in the middle of fallout 2 and its in my backlog, I liked fallout 3 a lot and I liked new Vegas a lot
But this one hasnt captured me like the others
I think the setting isn't as compelling to me I guess, its just not as enthralling to walk up to Fenway park as it is to stand on the risge above the super duper mart and see the ruins of DC in the distance
Boston just feels like pretty much anywhere else and its not "hey there's the Hoover dam, hey I'm in Vegas, hey that's nellis!"
