Load temps are between 30-50, but I rarely play games that could approach the upper end of that.
I mainly OC for Caveman 2 Cosmos in Civilization 4. It's a fucking mess on CPU because of all the mods in that shit.

One 8gb stick died and I'm waiting for a replacement.
CPU fan standoffs scratched the insulation off the connections on the motherboard. Then shorted the ram.
I'm not sure who I should be angry at - Asus, for putting connections so close to the standoff holes, or Cooler Master from making metal standoffs with shitty insulation. Solved the issue by covering the standoffs in tape.

I work as a 3d modeller. Photoshop eats ram like candy when I work on high-res textures. Other programs use quite a lot.
But yes, it's a bit of an overkill at the moment. It will be useful in the coming years though.

You had me there, running it almost 5 Ghz would be insane.
I have my 4670k clocked to 4.2, 4.4 is doable, but with like 1.3V which cooks it pretty badly in stress tests (like 95°C and throttling badly). At 4.2 it runs with 1.2V pretty cool.

I have the 4690k, I'm not sure how much better but I didn't have to increase voltage at all to get 4.4, I could go higher if I wanted to turn up voltage but I want this CPU to last and I've never really messed around with voltage before.
