W-what?
>>
>>319527680

If the site is worth a damn, you password's hash is stored, not your password itself. That's why most sites can't send your password back (if they can, that's a major red flag). Hashes can be brute forced, but depending on the algorithm it can take a very long time.

LET THE NORMIES HIT THE FLOOR
>>
>>319530964
A ton of simple passwords hashes can be brute forced via a rainbow table. That's why anyone who is serious about their users security and knows what they're doing uses salted hashes, but who knows if they did. We will just have to wait and see.
>>
>>319531284

>>
>>319531639
>exposed sockets
Why?
>>
>>319531774

No, I'm not surprised at all, because nowadays every fucking single thing demands an account. People got sick of making up a new account name and password for every site they visit, so they use similar or the same ones.

Fuck, even i who am somewhat careful about my passwords and have been hacked three times total (twice on my throw away junkmail acc and once in a online game), use around 5 different account names with different combinations of passwords. Around 5-7 different passwords. So yea, eventually you run out of fucks to give and stop making up unique usernames with unique passwords.
>>
>>319527164
Why? Just let it marinate in its own fat.

>>
>>319532182

But needing accounts for literally everything is pretty retarded anyway.

You clearly don't know about Chucklefish. Notoriously lazy, to the point where in 2 years the game isn't even halfway finished. Meanwhile, Terarria is fully fucking finished, and the SB devs are so lazy that Mollygos put a dog bed near an exposed electrical socket, instead of getting a new cover. RIP dog.
>>
>>319531639
So are you just over reacting and being cautious about the electrical sockets she keeps her puppy's bed near, or did her puppy seriously die due to that electrical socket?
>>
>>319524528
passwords in db are md5 encrypted
basically you can print them on paper and put on the wall to remind yourself how cool hacker you are
that's all that data is good for
>>
>>319533545
Storing your passwords as MD5 encryption is still retarded because of rainbow tables. A lot of passwords are still vulnerable.
>>
>>319533545
>md5

nah m8
also md5 was cracked long ago, rainbow tables are a thing
>>
>>319533807
if your password is "peekaboo" or "test123" you don't even need to get db stolen to be cracked
meanwhile I put some crap pass like "omgwtfsheet" into md5 crack site and it can't find a match
>>
>>319534005
>if your password is "peekaboo" or "test123" you don't even need to get db stolen to be cracked
literally nobody bruteforces passwords these days

>meanwhile I put some crap pass like "omgwtfsheet" into md5 crack site and it can't find a match
there are rainbow tables publically available that cracks any md5 password less then 8 characters long (or something like that)
>>
>>319532662
Well actually, it's almost finished with nearly every promised feature alongside some new ones implemented. 1.0 is visibly around the corner and the latest Unstable build really shows they added a lot of fixes to community concerns over the years. Quest system is still a drag and the survival system definitely needs to be reimplemented, but they confirmed that present quests are mostly just laying down the system and are going to be replaced while they are going to continue looking at putting survival elements back while 1.0 is being pushed out.

Besides, it's not really fair to compare Terraria and Starbound. Terraria has much more of a focus on a structured adventure for one to go through and a single world for the player to build in, while Starbound is more about player exploration and relying on the curiosity and construction aspect to drive the gameplay. In addition, Terraria 1.0 was definitely lackluster when it came out and required all the patches leading up to 1.3.1 to make the game really pop. All in all, it took 4 years for Terraria to get "finished" since release. If you look at Starbound, they've really made some steps since its barebones alpha and has many analogs to Terraria's big patches such as the Winter Update is to Starbound after 1 year as the 1.2 update was to Terraria after 2 years. All in all, it's still a very solid game and has had a very decent development period. Except for cocky assholes for devs, it's a good example of an Early Access game.

It hit the wall that /kspg/ did, where there's so little content and such bad devs that the general becomes primarily about warning people to never buy the game.
/kspg/ didn't listen to the age old phrase of 'die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain' though and is now a shitposting haven, as opposed to /sbg/'s peaceful drift into oblivion.

If you mean Space Engineers, the Planetary update literally broke everything and they will need some serious fixing for it to work. The game is OK but the lag made me crash a mining space ship on my friend's server where it suddenly decided to 'adjust its position' to where the asteroid was.

I don't really think you should let the KSP people into /egg/. They're a lost cause. If anything the better community of KSP is around the youtube spergs that actually do impressive shit instead of /kspg/ faggots that moan, shit and complain.

As for /sbg/ I wish it would never come back because I know Weaver would start riding it hard for attention. Like he did with Terraria when 1.3 was released.
>>
>>319532662
Of course it takes more time to create.
Because Starbound is an at least two orders of magnitude more ambitious game than Terraria.
You only have a single planet in Terraria and that's all. Boring, boring, boring.

Starbound gives you infinite planets, and there are like half a dozen different types of them. You have all that scifi technology IN ADDITION to the medieval/fantasy stuff that both games have. You have spaceships, different ones for every playable race.

Starbound already has at least twice as much content as your precious Terraria.
>>
>>319538308
I actually like Starbound more than Terarria, but I was just saying.
>>
>>319538308
here's your (you)
>>
>>319538052
The only time we'd agree to taking them in is if /kpsg/ collapses permanently. The main fuel for shitposting is simply not having anything else to post about, and /egg/ is a decently lively general due to the number of games in it, but will get overrun when a game becomes popular (it probably would be Spess Engie General if Keen wasn't so shit at coding).

Space Engineers is currently only good for people with very good computers, and even then the game kills itself under certain conditions (e.g. landing gear touching ANYTHING for more than a split second). Crashes are frequent no matter how Master Race you are.

/sbg/ is gone forever. Starbound has ruined too many player's hopes, and they aren't returning any time soon.

>>319538308
Are you lying to try and get an argument?

Terraria has infinite worlds. It's called starting a new world but keeping the character.

And those worlds still end up having more variation than Starbound planets.

If you're gonna bait the least you can do is not blatantly lie.
>>
>>319538818

> More variation

It's bait but I'll take it. Terraria's main problem is that every world has 2-5 clouds, dungeon, ocean, jungle crimson/corruption and after hardmode - hollow. There's no incentive to go beyond that world other to get new chest drops from clouds/refight some bosses. It essentially becomes "Find X, Kill boss Y that makes Z spawn essential into making tools to summon boss U that you need to kill." etc. It's an attrition game where the 'end' is defeating the 'final boss' or grinding the boss till you get that ultra rare item.
>>
>>319539549
So you are legitimately retarded.

How the fuck can you water Terraria down to this:
>"Find X, Kill boss Y that makes Z spawn essential into making tools to summon boss U that you need to kill."
when Starbound is literally, LITERALLY "dig straight down until you find enough ores to make a whole set of the current armor tier, kill boss, get access to differently colored worlds, rinse and repeat".

Starbound doesn't even have an endgame. It begins and ends in grinding differently colored ores in differently colored worlds.
>>
>>319539549
That means every world has more stuff in it than about every ten that get generated in Starbound.
It COULD have more, but they just don't put anything in past than settlements and facilities. Hell, if it weren't for the class/race system making it necessary, they would never have bothered making differences.
There's plenty of potential that could easily be exploited, but Starbound needs to be expanded and given more content.

The only reason Starbound and Terraria get compared is because Chucklefuck was butthurt about being kicked off the Terraria team by Red, and kept saying he'd make a better game with blackjack and space travel. We wouldn't be having this argument if he wasn't such a moron.
