When did you first get yours? What was your firstgame?
I got a used PS3 pretty far into it's lifetime and got Demon's Souls with it. I beat DS once and never touched my PS3 again. It's still sitting in the corner of my closet like it has been for years.

June 12 2008 when mgs iv came out. I bought the bundle with the software BC 80gb ps3.
It was good timing, as my 360 I got the year prior red ringed shortly after, then the replacement red ringed. I stopped buying 360 games immediately and just went ps3 for about 2 years.
I got one as soon as it released with Motorstorm and some basketball game.
Don't know why.

I bought a launch model from Gamestop about a year and a half ago for that ps2 compatibility as well as playing dirt cheap launch titles. Then I was a retard and started using it for modern titles like GTA V and YLOD'd it. It sits in my closest waiting for me to repair it.
Got one near launch, around 2007 then. Only had Resistance: Fall of Man. Never finished, it didn't get much until I got MGS4.

The PS3/Xbox360 NHL games were much more advanced than the PS2/PC versions they put out. Demon's Souls was the other one because /v/ was hyping it up so much and it looked cool.

Got a Ps3 slim, had a tiny as fuck hdd. I got it because /v/ hyped Red Dead so hard. The game delivered and a few more titles worth keeping the system around were released. The system was near dead this year and I sold it to Gamestop for 60 bucks.

Got mine at some point after launch while they were $600. I remember deciding between that and upgrading my phone to an LG Chocolate. I got my dad to pay for half of the PS3 just for the blu-ray player since most stand alone blu-ray players were expensive as shit anyway.
First game was Resistance I think. I remember playing the fuck out of the motorstorm demo when I first got it. I just remember all of the mud deformation and mud on the vehicles accumulating over time blowing my mind on top of being a fun racer.

I got the infamous 2 bundle in 2012. It was the first console I ever bought myself. I'm 26 now, but I never really got into video games until then. Before that I had a ps2 but only played san andreas and spiderman 2 when they first game out. Since then I've caught up on a lot of games/franchises I missed out on.
The fat one with the largest gb size. Had that shitty motocross game. Realized wow this system is pretty lackluster (looked at upcoming games). Then I went back to playing on the ps2 (because I didn't have the memory card PS3 adaptor), WoW or doing homework for high school. Games that I played on release day since then were: GTA 4, MGS4, tomb raider, wow, and Arkham origins. All others were GOTY sub $20 deals.

Stopped gaming as a primary hobby until late 2012, picked up another PS3 and played all the stuff I missed.
Got it in December 2009. I was Nintendo-only until 2009, with the exception of a family PS2 that I didn't get to use much.
Mostly got it because the one game I did get to play a lot on PS2 was GTA San Andreas and I wanted something to play GTA IV on.
Really enjoyed it. In no small part due to having almost no experience outside of Nintendo for 15 years at the time. Out of the consoles I've owned it has the largest collection of games I've owned for a single console and it gave me access to some genres I simply hadn't experienced much before (JRPGs and fighters especially). A lot of my favourite games are on it.

It turned out to be literal bumhole so I ended up getting a 360 and enjoying the fuck out of it. Got mine in summer 2007. Came with Resistance, which got me into FPSs.
A few years ago, I got a new job and money, I had played PS3 before but had a xbox360 with lots of games.
Got PS3 with a big Harddrive and resistance 2. Got the eye toy play thing too, or whatever it was called. Got lots of shooter ones that used that, and then lots of exclusive PS3 games. Never played it as much as my xbox360 but I would play it when i wanted a special high quality game, that gave me a break from the same copy and pasted shit.

I miss the old Playstation Store layout, if only for the fact that it actually ran on the PS3, which is more than I can say of the current shitshpw Sony has running in place of a storefront on that console. The revised store works fine on PS4 but on the PS3 it navigates like shit, always slowing down outright ignoring button inputs half the time.
Got mine for Christmas back in 2011, came with Skyrim, Borderlands 2, and MW3.
Skyrim was great, and Borderlands was great.
I have nothing to say about MW3.
