Long combos can be done and will net you some damage in Spookygals, but they are not the most efficient way to to score big damage.
Resets are a wiser choice.

OP again. One other question: does anybody else think the DLC characters are harder to beat than the regular ones (at least, noob-wise, not tournament-wise)? As bad as I am against everyone else, I'm much worse against Big Band and Beowulf

Big Band's I too big for his own good if have a good zoning team: Peacock with Robo-Fortune and Fukua assist you can limit his option to some very obvious choices. if you can guess right you can lock him down.

unless you are using a super at the end most combos don't get that high, they seem long because there is a lot of resets in SG, especially for certain characters like Squiggly but that means is not an entire combo but rather various combos string together that you let happen because you didn't block at the right time or got baited into get grabbed.
