I liked all of the games i've played in this series (even though some are worse than others). I cannot say the same for Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest.
Strange Journey is pretty good. Nocturne deserves all the praise it gets but I think SJ is a little better, maybe because it's a lot faster.
I like all the mainline games except for 4, which is shit for babies.

The only one I've played all the way through was Soul Hackers, i don't like the Persona games and SMT4 was boring to me.
I was enjoying Nocturne when I played it, but I like FPS dungeon crawlers more so I didn't bother finishing it, I think I stopped playing when I was in some dark underground caverns.

Persona 3 is honestly one of the worst games I've ever played. The only real dungeon in the game is the exact same floor just randomly rearranged 200 times over and over. The only difficulty comes from the shitty AI party members and the social link system is retarded, all it is is listening to completely irrelevant characters bitch about their problems.
Persona 4 fixes the party members and gives more dungeon variety, even if they're still simplistic and random, so it's not nearly as bad.

The dungeons in P1 are literally just blank corridors with no reason to go anywhere other than straight to the next 'event room'. Very rarely you will get an extra room with some equipment, mostly found on the 'right path' though rather than going around the rest of the dead ends.
