And to answer OP, the whole atmosphere and the OST, they make a great combination, add some monsters with good designs and creepy yet mysterious alien locations and there, you have a great Metroid game.

It's actually a really cool addition to the game, in the 80's/90's, nobody actually expected this badass bounty hunter to be a woman, it's a little detail but a good one.

Everythingexcept that the gameplay is a little to floaty to my tastes, I prefer the physics of Zero Mission but the Super Metroid physics are still fine. I have yet to find a flaw in this game.
