I don't know if you remember, but there was an issue with demo charge in that how fast you could turn was almost completely dependent on how high your framerate was. At a high enough fps, you could pretty much spin on the spot while at a lower fps would barely be able to round a corner unless you used a turn macro or something. Valve finally fixed it like a year ago but many people that were used to the fast turns got upset, so they made this shield that lets you completely control your charge regardless of framerate.

Sure, but does that matter when the weapon can make a complete scrub an enormous pain in the ass to deal with just by having it on? It drops demos skill floor by a factor of ten and is easily the biggest crutch in the game being nigh impossible to kill unless you have a natascha or the reserve shooter.

Targe gives you free crits, you can't be stopped by knockback, you move faster than anything else in the game, can retreat at any time AND you get pills. How is that not enough to kill a soldier? It takes 3 direct rockets minimum to kill a demoknight that's way too fucking much.

Demo has loch and loose cannon to snipe all the bullet classes well outside their range.

It's 12s per charge. A free kill or escape every 12s is huge. Please point to me any other item on cooldown that is anywhere near as useful as a shield.

Demo never uses his melee except as a last resort when you're about to die. He's got 12 high damage projectiles after all. It's a straight upgrade over bottle in the case as you will most likely have died with either but the caber guarantees you at least 1 kill. Remember close range is supposed to be his weakness, caber removes this weakness.

With any shield you're getting to do 450 damage. That's a fully charged fucking headshot with splash damage.

And it has uses outside of that like getting a free kill on the medic at the beginning of the game, this was extremely common in HL and pretty much guaranteed your team the first point if you landed it.

It rewards the player for making mistakes which is something NO weapon should ever do.

The maximum range of the loose cannon is 113 feet, that's nothing to sneeze it. Also if you know the max range you can get double donks consistently without ever charging it and it knocks the player away so they can't kill you. This is especially effective against heavies, you can keep pushing him out of range while doing 140 damage each time.
