The true comfy winter game is The Long Dark
Brutally hard and it manages to be an actual survival game rather than "shoot zombies and occasionally gather food"
Everything about it just emanates comfiness, from the fire building system, to the art style, the music, weather, the cold mechanic.
And it just keeps getting comfier, as you use up the scavenged resources and have to start relying on your own shit, making your own clothes out of furs, hunting all your food, etc.
God, I haven't found a game that has made me this comfy since Banished.

I never liked playing in Phendrana. It's great but I usually stay there as little as possible. I want to think that it's because Thardus walled me in Hard and that the Pirate HQ is a pain in the ass, as well as it being highly disconnected from everywhere.
