WC3 dota in 2007 and 08 made go from top of my class to dropping most of my courses in year 11 and 12 (ausfag). Thankfully though about halfway through year 11 I decided I wasn't going to go to uni, which made my HAD redundant anyways. Was doing VET courses though so it was worth it to not drop out so I could get certificates.
But yah, all my mates just played dota on hamachi and garena all day every day.
My fondest memory was during my maths HAD exam. Me and a friend stayed the mandatory 45 mins, didn't do a single question then left the exam and went to another friends house to keep playing dota.

More embarassingly, LoL and my shitty capacity for self-determination nearly ruined my college career. I tanked from a 4.0/3.9 first year down to a 2.8/3.4 second year. The real joke is that the second year I actually had an easier course load because I was working and switching majors.
Thankfully I was able to score a couple good jobs that made my otherwise worthless degree pretty easy to sell to a decent company in the video game industry, so none are left any the wiser. For a while, I was really worried.
