Going to pick up pic related. What to expect?

Expect it not to work. Seriously I'd wait until they actually release a patch. It's fun but unless you have a top tier PC, it's almost definitely gonna be unplayable, and even if you do have a beast machine, it still might not work. I guess if you're on console there's no hope for improvement anyway, so then go ahead. Game's fun, when it works.
>>
Don't be retarded, it's utterly unplayable on every platform
>>
>>318770294
Performance is pretty shit but it still is loads of fun when it isn't crashing or frames are stuttering.

>JC3 paired with performance killing Denuvo DRM
>devs HATE this shit because of the RAM Overhead costs
>know the game isn't going to run well at launch cause Denuvo
>make DRM the literal enemy of the entire game
>game comes out
>"fun but performance sucks, 2/10"
>devs act like they don't know what's wrong in press releases knowing full well it's Denuvo(this is key)
>publishers now look stupid
>devs willingly let their own game crash and burn with a shit eating grin to prove a point

Avalanche isn't the studio we deserve, but it's the one we need right now
>>
>>318771358
Didnt mad max use denuvo and that game ran fine
>>
>>318771358
I'm waiting for crack.

If anyone does - when they "remove" Denuvo, do they actually remove it, or do they just find ways to trick it into thinking you've got a legit copy?

I imagine the latter would be easier, If that's the case, do even pirates experience Denuvo problems?
>>
>>318771358
what point? that denuvo is dumb?
>>
>>318771498
This, stop blaming Denuvo for shit performances. If it has shit performances, it's the game fault, not denuvo, poorfags.
>>
>>318771498
>>318771498
Denuvo seems to use a unique version for each game it gets applied to. (the Madmax workaround doesn't work for JC3) The JC3 version is so obtrusive that it's eating RAM up like no ones business.

>Imagine if you had 30 locks on your front door.
That's the CD key
>Now imagine if you had 30 keys 1 for each lock
That'd be the DRM
>Now imagine if you had a guy that inspected every one of your keys every 10 minutes and you couldn't use a key until he inspected it
That's Denuvo

>You've got 20 seconds to make it to work.
There's the problem
>>
>>318771580
They circumvent Denuvo when it does manage to get exploited. It's never an actual crack which is why real scene groups don't do releases of Denuvo games
>>
Runs decent on a 295x2 (really just a 290 since no CF support) have at least 12gb of ram. Using an i7 3770k. Put game on ssd.

Best open world single player arcade game yet? Probably, but there are a few features like view side swap, FOV, and odd car controls. But it's much more fun than GTA to me.

If on console i heard about loading times being an issue.

do not fucking buy this shit pile. I bought it and i cant even get above 15 fucking fps with everything on low and all effects turned off on a 770.
>>
>>318770294
It's fun, but a shitton of technical problems. I don't run into much because my machine can bruteforce through the shitty optimization, but I still get disconnected a shitton of times. and it wants to reconnect every time i pause or open the map. It wasn't that much a problem in the first couple of days, but now, I get the disconnected every 15 minutes.

>>318771358
>make DRM the literal enemy of the entire game

I think the devs didn't know the game was gonna get a DRM, especially one as shitty as Denuvo when they planned that. I can see them being at a point where they've done to much voicework and created to much assets with it to back down on that.
>>
>>318770467
I'm literally having no problem running this shit, 60fps and all, and my rig isn't all that great with mid i5 and 760.

I guess I just got lucky, but man, playing games shouldn't be a gamble where you can never be sure if they work on your PC.
>>
>>318772289
>I think the devs didn't know the game was gonna get a DRM
>every game their publisher has put out recently has used it, even their sister studio's last game. Mad Max
>enemy named DRM is a coincidence

They knew

>>318772294
I have an i5 @ 4ghz, GTX 770 and 8gigs ram

I get 60 fps, but then stutters and shit and sometimes the game just straight pauses for 4 seconds. WHat's your resolution?
>>
>>318772294
What's your RAM?

I've been digging around and apparently there's a memory leak issue
>>
>>318771886
Its a new version of Denuvo so that could be why.

That said JC3 has terrible memory garbage collection apparently which is why the game runs like shit after half an hour.

What are your other specs?

I have a 770 get 60fps with stuff turned down
>>
>>318772597
>That said JC3 has terrible memory garbage collection

This is true. I noticed when I had the textures set to very high, then put them on medium and my stuttering didn't reduce until I closed the game and restarted.
>>
>>318772294
Yeah, you got lucky. There are even people with 980tis who can't get the game to a playable state.
>>318772514
I've also got a 770 2gb, i5 mid tier cpu, and 8 gigs of RAM. I can maintain a decent framerate, but I have to turn textures all the way down and even then I also get the stuttering and full on freezes.
>>
>>318772514
Turn off V-sync and FXAA, worked for me with same card.

Yeah my performance is fine outside of the game just seizing up for seconds at a time

I have some weird problem where my jet can't keep up with the one I'm supposed to escort. Getting him killed.
>>

>What to expect?
Expect and prepare for various technical problem.
That aside, expect beautiful mediterranean landscape with fancy explosion effects and destructable environment all while flying around like a retard-wielding rocket that shoot grappling hooks constantly and flies with wingsuit, etc.
>>
>>318772791
thats still dumb, i also have a 770, which obviously is dated, but shouldn't be playing the game on fucking low with stuttering every 10 seconds,
>>
>>318773120
You're supposed to be able to lock on to them using your missiles. Hover your target on them for a second until you see a red targeting thing.

There's a bug with that though. If you don't have the targeting reticle, disable the precision aim gear mod, and restart the game. Don't turn it back on until you're done with the mission. that fixed the bug for me. For some reason, the precision aim mod disables the jet's homing missiles.
>>
>>318773328
>GTX 770
>letting the cutting edgefags tell you that's an outdated card
770 is a great card, and there is no excuse for modern games that can't at least run at medium settings at 60 frames and full HD. that is a reasonable expectation for optimization and it is very rarely met, but that is because the devs are shit/rushed/don't care, not because the card is old and you need a new one.
>>
>>318772514
1080p. I do get some stutters, for example when I drive out of the tunnel and there's a massive field coming up in front of me, but game pausing has never happened to me yet.
>>
>>318772542
Yeah I did read about the memory leak issue. I have 8gigs which I think is the average ram size for pc users.

Expect bad performance regardless of what settings you use. Maybe you'll get lucky and it will run fine.

It's fun, but once you finish the bottom two regions the mainland is pretty boring and empty.
>>
It's a fun game, but the performance is really strange. I have a 970, and the game runs 60+ fps most of the time, with everything on very high, except when it suddenly takes a nosedive into the 20s. The weird thing is, the settings don't do a whole lot. I experimented by setting every possible setting on low/off, and it still fell into the 40s.
>>
If you're running Nvidia it's great, but no sli support right now so I'm holding off a little.

If you run AMD then just kill yourself because there's no helping you.

I'm pretty sure my performance issues are because the 660 2GB has the same problems as the 970, having 512MB of worse memory.

My CPU caps at 70-80%. My GPU caps at 50-75%, and it's on SSD.

Protip: I was getting huge framedrops (pretty unplayable) from 30 FPS, but I set MSI Afterburner (Rivatuner) to cap the FPS at 30, and between that and messing with audio devices (got this from Reddit), setting the game to always run as admin, turning off the Steam overlay (in the game's properties), and setting Steam to offline mode (in the File options), it's performing almost really well.

The problem is multiplied by turning up the textures from low (which obviously spikes the GPU memory), so that's pretty telling. I might email Nvidia and ask for a replacement or upgrade option.

>If it has shit performances, it's the game fault
I'd probably bet that the majority of problems are from having lower than the minimum requirements.

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3 GHz or AMD Phenom II X6 1075T 3 GHz
Memory: 6GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 with 2GB of VRAM

I have a phenom II x4 and a 660 2GB, and the game almost runs at 30 without any stutter. DigitalFoundry has the game at a steady 30 with an i3 and a 750ti on almost all High - Very High settings. With a GTX 950, it gets 45.
