In terms of progression and difficulty it's more like a hack 'n slash (think Diablo) with a focus on bossing. EXP and drop rates are increased to lessen the grind, enemies can only drop items your character is capable of equipping, big class rebalance to make the shittier classes more viable, etc.

No, they're not. Equips are main stat only, and accuracy is mostly determined by level difference between you and the monster. Just dump everything into your main stat until it hits the cap, then toss whatever's left into either HP or your secondary stat.

It's not possible. It's either use Joy2Key or you deal with the built-in system. There's problems with the native one though, I remember things being delayed and some directions + commands don't work if pressed at the same time. The only advantage is holding your pickup button is it turns it to if you were using Tubi in terms of speed, and it spams it as long as you don't switch direction or jump.

There is no choice in stat allocation, if you don't press auto allocate you are gimping yourself
you are always given enough points to complete all your skills, so the only thing you can influence is when you get skills
the only thing you can choose is the second job advancement, and even that is only the case for explorers, the rest have linear progression in terms of jobs

They added a system where equipment can have stat bonuses that do things like increase your stats or increased damage against bosses. You can use real money to buy cubes that reset the item potential and get godly stats but in reboot you buy all that with meso.
