I just refunded a game I played for 8 hours after a week and a half after it wasn't compatible with Windows 10.
I don't pirate the games i play.
I have a job, meaning i have the disposable income to buy it, and i don't have enough time to play a lot of games because of the nature of my job, so there is no point on pirating.
Also, i don't like singleplayer games

My only specific reason for pirating is to test games before I purchase them. So no, OP's example would not affect me because Steam has a refund policy. Never said I pirated for the sake of free games.

I would. If it were up to the game makers, very few games would even be available for modding. They like locking down their games to where you can't do anything about it. Piracy is one way that circumvents that lock. Personally, I even pirate games that I have on Steam because I don't like opening Steam to play them. Multiplayer games is the exception where I don't mind the DRM, because Steam DRM usually has features that make playing with friends seamless

I pirate anything singleplayer, rarely buy it unless I actually like it enough. Even then I always try to see if I can get a deal because I don't like forking over $60 for a game, $30-40 is my upper limit.
MP games I only get if I know I have a few friends that will play consistently and/or it's fun enough to play on its own without them. Again, will try to find a way to avoid paying full price. Never preorder anything, always wait for the shit to come out and possibly hear from friends what they think of it.
