It depends because mobs are harder but give more EXP, so it really depends on how you get EXP (quests/farming) and how much.

Yes, both have a glorified autoattack that improve every advancement, but Kanna actually uses other skills, but has other resource instead of MP, so you can't spam to your heart's content.
It has the best grind skill, better that holy symbol, the best looking skill effects, and unless they changed it on GMS, doesn't have an annoying animu dub voice like all new classes do.

No, Reboot changes nothing in that regard. The amount of mesos per drop is increased, not the actual rate of meso drops. Meso Explosion damage hasn't been based on the amount of mesos used since ages ago.
In any case, Meso Explosion is supposed to be used with Pickpocket. That's the designed way and the only viable way to use it.
Also that's not quite what I'd call a buff other than Bstep range increase.
