Back when I played (forever ago), you'd grind in areas that if you got hit 1-2x you'd die. It might seem like enemies do nothing when it's a level 200 v.s. a bunch of level 50 mooks, but it was more subtle than that. The grind was very real, though, 1 level per week at 8 hours a day when I decided to say "fuck it" and quit. I wasn't even halfway to cap.

I used to main a Mercedes on GMS a few years ago, are they worth playing again on Reboot? I also used to play Paladin and Zero actively but you can't even make Zero in Reboot so they're out of the question.
I quit playing shortly before Shade came out so I have no idea how Shade or Kinesis play, but I also played just about every single class in the game besides those two.

For every 5 levels of your Cygnus they give your other characters more stat boosts rather than for every 10 levels of any other job.

They simplified it. Basically just pump points into passives and buffs early on since your main damage skill changes as you class up in general. But you usually can get nearly everything.

The constant level cap increases really killed maplestory for me.
Getting an extra digit on your damage or increasing it by 2 or 3 k used to be a big fucking deal, and you'd look at that and think "Man I've come a long way." and keep grinding.
You can get to 4th job in a week now. They practically throw everything you'll ever need at you and feed you XP buffs for no reason. Getting to max level is basically hiring a hacker to slog you past 170+ after spending no more than a month getting there.
All the little numbers of maplestory mean nothing to me anymore, because it doesn't feel like you've accomplished anything, even in an autistic way.
