Its not like that. Color isnt a problem. What is a problem is when they try to make characters into certain demographic just for the sake of including said demographic. If character is labeled gay for no other reason than that you want gay character in your game, then its bad.
Example of this from Tales from the Borderlands. Literally nobody had any relationship outside of the con. But then somebody wanted a lesbian character. So they had to add a special relationship to showcase that the character is indeed gay. Result is hamfisted lesbian couple drama in the middle of a story that gains nothing from it.

The only strait reasonable relationship in the whole game I've come across is 2 characters that they had to keep because they were in the first game who end up broken up in the second game. Everyone else is either gay or the female is forced against her will and it's gonna be a quest is to kill the guy. Wilhelm is the only male player character and he's portrayed as a 1 dimensional gun nut compared to everyone else's backstory. Lastly every enemy is a male psychopath or a female with a sympathetic backstory.
I try my hardest not to let this stuff bug me. It usually doesn't, like I didn't notice any of what OP was talking about, but in the presequel, by about the fourth or fifth "kill my crazy boyfriend" quest it started to grate on me.

The Walking Dead (game) is actually an example of forced diversity done right, the characters are written well enough for you to not really notice or care about it. There's many other games you could have used to get the point across (Indivisible is a new one that comes to mind, any new WRPGs).

However he never purposely hurts Clem. Him yelling at you about Sarita isn't so much him being angry with you, but rather something to direct that anger towards in the moment. Some people get really upset over this, but I feel like its dumb to listen to someone while their angry like that. And as I said before, he can apologize for everything he did, and if you tell him he's dangerous Kenny can acknowledge all that and say he's trying to work on his anger, and Clem has the option to either leave him (sadly, unlike Jane whom she leaves in anger) or comfort him and say they'll get through it.
